FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t crochet but I want a finished product, can I buy one?
Yes, I would be happy to make you one! Please contact me on my Etsy shop so we can work something out. The only thing I will not do is make an item from a pattern that is not my own. Please contact the original pattern owner; they work hard to make their patterns and I don’t have the right to take money from them.

Can I sell products made from your patterns?
Please don’t. I work hard to make these patterns and I do have an Etsy shop where I sell them myself.

What brand of yarn do you use?
I use a mix, but the majority of my yarn is “I Love This Yarn” brand. I also use Red Heart Super Saver and occasionally Vanna’s Choice.

Why don’t you chain 1 before turning?
This is a personal preference; I think that the edges look a bit cleaner if you don’t chain 1. Of course, if you prefer to chain 1 then it is perfectly okay to do so when applicable.

How do you get pieces worked flat to look like they were worked in the round?
This is a technique that I use all the time, so much so that I forget that others may not know how to do it. I have heard it called “mirror crochet”, but if you are familiar with knitting it’s basically the equivalent of a purl as it is the reverse of a stitch. Just google “mirror crochet” and there should be some great tutorials on how to do this.

Not a question but,
There is a mistake in this pattern!
Please tell me! I am just one person and while I try my best to be as accurate as possible, sometimes things slip through the cracks. I don’t go back and look at my older patterns that frequently so if you don’t alert me to these errors I probably won’t notice, so please contact me either on Etsy/ Ravelry or at icrochetthings@gmail.com. I will fix the errors and update the patterns on all websites as soon as possible. And I do apologize if there are any mistakes, I know how frustrating it is to be unable to complete a pattern.

Anytime I fix errors/ update a pattern I make a note of it on this page. If you downloaded one of my patterns and noticed a mistake, check there first to see if I have already fixed it. If not, please let me know!

  1. Hi! I'm a crochet lover and I make amigurumi for my 3yo son. I've made Ironman, SuperMario, Zelda and so on.. I wrote down the patterns and wanted to share online. But I'm afraid I'll be sued by the company who own the characters. You seems fine selling the Pokemon patterns. Have you ever contacted by the said companies about licensing issues?
